What does a city look like through children’s eyes? In July 2015, the workshop “Let’s Create Our Own Sofia” gave young residents of the capital an opportunity to share ideas for buildings, streets, parks and public spaces. NT3 Consult participated in the initiative, supported by Sofia Municipality.
Through models, drawings and hands-on activities, the children explored how urban environments are organised and why different spaces need to work together. Play became an accessible way to introduce ideas about urban planning, navigation and quality of life in the city.
The workshop opened on 13 July 2015 in the third section of Sofia’s South Park. For NT3 Consult, initiatives like this help encourage curiosity about the built environment and show that valuable ideas for a city can come from anyone — including children.
A Bulgarian National Radio report from 13 July 2015 also covered the initiative (in Bulgarian).
