General Spatial Development Plan of Kresna Municipality

The General Spatial Development Plan of Kresna Municipality was developed, including analysis and assessment of the physical, social, economic and environmental condition of the territory. A demographic and economic forecast, forecasts for functional-spatial development, a planning development concept, functional and spatial zoning, a territorial balance, and rules and regulations for implementing the plan were developed. Directions for the development of transport and technical infrastructure, the green system, recreation and tourism, as well as measures for the protection of natural and cultural heritage, were also provided.

The plan covers the territory within the boundaries of Kresna Municipality, including all of the municipality's land areas. The development included analysis of the natural-geographic conditions, territorial structure and land use, settlement network, demographic and socio-economic condition, housing stock, social infrastructure, transport and technical infrastructure, environment, and cultural heritage. Based on the research performed, forecasts for socio-economic and spatial development were prepared, and the future designation of the various types of territory was determined. Functional zones for residential, public-service, production, recreational and other activities were provided, as well as regimes for protected territories, cultural heritage, landscaping, transport and technical infrastructure, and territories with special regimes.

An up-to-date spatial and planning foundation was created for the balanced and sustainable development of Kresna Municipality. The General Spatial Development Plan assists the municipality in managing and developing the territory, determining the appropriate designation and layout of the various zones, and guiding future investment development. The plan creates the necessary foundation for subsequent detailed planning, while also supporting the combination of tourism, infrastructure and economic development with the protection and sustainable use of natural resources and cultural heritage.
