Regional Development Plan of the North Central Region for the Period 2014–2020

Participation in the development of the Regional Development Plan of the North Central Region through spatial and urban planning analyses related to the territorial structure, the settlement network and regional functional links. The hierarchy of settlements, the role of the main urban centres, transport connectivity and the potential for regional development were analysed. Participation in the development of a concept for the territorial and urban structure of the region and of graphic materials presenting the main directions and priorities for development.

The work covers the territory of the North Central Region, studying its spatial organisation, administrative-territorial structure and the functional interrelations between individual municipalities and settlements. The role and significance of the main urban centres, the settlement hierarchy, transport corridors and opportunities for developing regional links were examined. On the basis of the studies, analytical and conceptual materials were developed, presenting the territorial structure, zones of different functional profile, the main axes of urban development and the potential for spatial linkage between the different parts of the region.

A strategic and spatial basis was created for the coordinated development of the North Central Region, outlining the main directions for strengthening regional connectivity and the functional interactions between settlements. The analyses and conceptual proposals developed support the definition of territorial priorities, more effective use of local resources and the targeting of future investment to areas with development potential.
